If you’ve recently chipped a tooth, whether it was from a hard fall, blow to the face, or other oral trauma, then you must be feeling quite a bit of nervousness and anxiety right about now. If this is the case, don’t worry. The best thing you can do is keep a cool head. To help you get through this dental emergency, our Agreeable Dental Care dental team has some helpful tips and information for you.
The first thing you should do is call Dr. Marc Resnick and schedule an appointment. It’s best to see him as soon as possible so he can treat your tooth. When you come into our office for your appointment, don’t forget to bring the pieces of your tooth with you. This means you need to do your best to save the pieces of your tooth and keep them in a safe place until your appointment.
The second thing you should do is control the bleeding and reduce the swelling. You can control the bleeding by applying a piece of gauze pad to the area until the bleeding stops. If needed, feel free to replace the soaked pad with a new one when necessary. You can reduce swelling by placing an ice pack or cold compress outside of the cheek or lip that is near the injured area. This can keep the swelling down as well as relieve pain.
If you do these things, you’ll be on your way toward treating your chipped tooth in Aurora, Colorado. To learn more, please don’t be afraid to call our office at 303-369-7272.
